When I started this blog I was a stay-at-home mom raising three wonderful children.  My youngest, my son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on September 17, 2009 at the age of 14-months.  At that time this blog was about finding my new normal after his diagnosis but then my beautiful little girl, Sophie was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at the age of 4 in the summer of 2010.  So, then this blog was about finding my new normal living with 2 autoimmune diseases.

Now, after a long and painful divorce:

I don't really know what this blog will be going forward. I am now a single mom with three wonderful little people that make me smile every single day.  They also make me want to pull my hair out daily! We are still living with the daily ups and downs of Type 1 Diabetes and the Shit that is Crohn's Disease  but I like to think we do it with grace and style.

I've come along way since the initial shock of two of my children being diagnosed with life changing diseases.  I grieved for a long time and had to work through it at my own pace.  I found so much comfort writing our story out here on HWHAP and have made lifelong friends along the way.

I would like to continue to share my family's story here as we navigate through our crazy but amazing life.
